Biosketch: Jessica Laughlin is a Registered Nurse and leader who supports healthcare professionals as they cope with the effects of working in patient care. She has adopted a professional motto for herself and her teams: “Do all you can to be the best part of someone’s worst day!” This message encapsulates the understanding that everyone experiences some degree of uncertainty and vulnerability.
A critical care and emergency nurse for over 20 years, Laughlin has extensive experience in the care of high-acuity cardiac intensive care patients, nursing management, and hospital administration. Her professional interest and points of research involve establishing and maintaining healthy work environments and giving special attention to the care of caregivers themselves. Most importantly, Jessica is the proud mom of 19-year-old quadruplets including two with special needs, which gives her expertise in the challenges patients face in accessing necessary care.
Laughlin received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, her Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Systems and Leadership from Jacksonville University, and was conferred as a Doctor of Nursing Practice in the summer of 2024.
